This week in the Art room Pre-K have been busy creating Teddy bears on paper with simple circles and using letters and numbers to practice writing on the background.

Kinder and 1st grade concentrated on primary colors, and vertical and horizontal lines. They were shown a slide show on the work of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. The students choose a particular animal to draw and used Mondrian's colors and lines to color it in.

2nd grade learnt about the surrealistic movement through the work of Salvador Dalí. They created a drawing depicting a surreal scene.

3rd grade began their first week on a project working with wire to create a circus. They studied the works of Alexander Calder with emphasis on balance in mobiles and sculptures. They sketched their ideas for their wired circus sculptures.
