St. Paddy's Day and the Book of Kells

    K-mariano

This week in the Art room all students learnt about celebrating St. Patrick's Day. In PK we made St. Patrick's Day hats.
In other grades, students learnt about the Book of Kells, Ireland's treasured manuscript created by Celtic monks 13 centuries ago. We worked on the amazing calligraphy used by the monks. Pictured above are letters created by first-grader Mariano Frare Finnerty following the book's style.
Last but not least, 3A concentrated on city planning and aerial views this week in another session with the folks from the Washington Architectural Foundation.
