    Clay pendants and 3A architects

    Archi

This week in 1st and 2nd grade we began to work with clay. We are making simple pendants following themes and textures found in nature. Pre K, Kinder and 3rd grade have been organizing their great art work of the last few months into portfolios to take home.

On Wednesday evening our 3A students and their parents came together with other students from DC schools to exhibit their architectural projects at the Wilson Building on Pennsylvania Avenue. They had worked in the art room for 8 weeks with 3 volunteer architects from the Washington Architectural Foundation and created a container city made out of recycled materials. We wish to extend special thanks to Daniel Allen-Salas, Haley Powers, Katherine Littleton and Anna Ruhlman for presenting the class project and describing their personal experiences working as architects.
