    Butterflies and Monet's water lilies

    Isabelreid2

     By Isabel Reid

This week in the Art room Pre-Kinder worked on symmetry. They created a symmetrical butterfly using oil pastels and watercolor to create a water-resistant effect.
In Kindergarten and 1st grade we learnt about the works of Claude Monet and his Impressionist style. The students drew and painted one of Monet's Japanese bridges in their own fashion, highlighting his use of reflections in the water.
2nd grade worked on Salvador Dalí for a second week, bringing together in one drawing the Surrealist style in a picture with one-point perspective.
3rd graders worked on Alexander Calder again. They concentrated on making the wired figures for their circus.
